CHATHAM – A Chatham man is in jail after police say he broke into People’s Pub in the Village of Chatham.
Eric Boughton, 30, was charged with burglary and grand larceny after he was identified on surveillance video following investigation of the December 12 break-in.
Boughton allegedly stole approximately $1,500 from a safe and was observed on video eating a sandwich from the kitchen of the bar.
When he was questioned about the December 12 burglary, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said he made admissions of his involvement.
Boughton was committed to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
