Warrant search leads to drug arrest in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – A warrant
search of an apartment at 197 Mill Street in Poughkeepsie resulted in
the arrest of a resident and the seizure of drugs.
The city police department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit and Emergency Service Unit conducted the search as part of an investigation regarding narcotics distribution at that location based on complaints from neighbors.
Police recovered one ounce of cocaine, over 1.75 pounds of marijuana and over $4,900 in cash.
Rashmi Ruparella, 40, of that address was arrested and charged with felonies of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.
