ALBANY – The November unemployment rate in the Hudson Valley region is 4.0 percent. That is down from 4.2 percent in October and from 4.1 percent in November 2015, according to the state Labor Department.
During the 12-month period ending in November, the rate of joblessness
in most area counties declined just slightly, but labor analyst John Nelson
said the rate has been declining for the last several months.
“The fact that these jobless rate numbers are not going up is painting a positive picture for this region,” nelson said.
Columbia County had the lowest rate in the region, at 3.5 percent. Greene County had the highest rate at 4.9 percent.
