Mid-Hudson bridge traffic, revenue, both up

the traffic leader with almost
double the volume of
second place Mid-Hudson Bridge

HIGHLAND – With all but December statistics compiled, traffic and revenue are both up close to five percent in 2016 on the five bridges across the Hudson River operated by the New York State Bridge Authority.
The Bear Mountain Bridge continued to lead percentage-wise in both categories with 8.24 percent growth in revenue from January through November and 4.7 percent increase in traffic. The bridge carried 7.3 million vehicles in the 11 months this year.
The Newburgh-Beacon Bridge carried the most vehicles – 24.4 million – up 6.23 percent above the same period in 2015. Revenues rose by over 5.1 percent.
The Mid-Hudson Bridge, between Highland and Poughkeepsie, carried 13.3 million vehicles, an increase of almost 2.2 percent over the year before. Revenues rose by more than 2.4 percent.
The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge saw a 3.0 percent increase in traffic and a more than 2.7 percent increase in revenue.
The Rip Van Winkle Bridge saw a 3.7 percent increase in traffic and an almost 2.8 percent increase in revenue.
