NEW WINDSOR – A New Jersey man is under arrest in New Windsor after he allegedly broke into a single-family home in the town Wednesday afternoon. The suspect fled before police arrived, but was located by officers driving south on Route 32 in a white work van.
Police say Ryan Leak, 43, failed to comply leading police on a pursuit
through Five Corners in Vails Gate continuing southbound on Route 32 until
he collided with another vehicle.  Leak then led officers into a
swampy area until he was apprehended.
Police said Leak is believed to be responsible for three residential burglaries in New Windsor all on Wednesday. He is also suspected of being involved in several other burglaries in the towns of Tuxedo and Woodbury. That investigation is ongoing.
