GOSHEN – A Cornwall woman was sentenced in Orange County Court on Wednesday to two to six years in state prison following her guilty plea in the hit-and-run death of a Newburgh man on January 9, 2014.
Judge Robert Freehill sentenced Linda Ibrahim, 31, in the death of Eric Geter, Sr., who was on Walsh Road in New Windsor as he was walking home from work early in the morning. His body was recovered from a nearby creek days later.
Ibrahim admitted in court that she was intoxicated when she was driving and struck the victim.
