ALBANY – The latest round of statewide regional economic council grants announced Thursday resulted in projects in the Mid-Hudson Valley receiving a total of $83.3 million.
The total divvied up between all 10 regions in the state amounted to $700 million.
The grants focused on three areas for growth – Live, Work, Play.
Projects reflected municipal infrastructure, riverfront parks and redevelopment,
and business expansions. Legoland, not yet approved in the Town of Goshen,
is targeted for $3 million.  In previous years Legoland was looking
at Rockland County, but did not get a favorable response.  The theme
park expected a total of $10 million from the state.
Hotel Thayer at West Point will receive close to $357,000 for tourism
marketing.
