GOSHEN – When Norwegian Shuttle service begins between Europe and Stewart Airport next year, it will definitely mean a boost to the area’s tourism industry. That assessment comes from Orange County Tourism Director Susan Hawvermale.
She said the region has dozens of tourism attractions for the new visitors to enjoy.
“Most people around here will think of flying out of Stewart and going to Europe; my thoughts are it is an easier way for people to fly from Europe to the Hudson Valley and make this their vacation,” Hawvermale said. “Many of them already do it, but this is going to make it so much easier.”
The Hudson River is often called the Rhine of America, and visiting Europeans
will be able to see it for themselves, she said.
