Dr. Israelski stands in front of rubble in Haiti

GOSHEN – A Goshen-based organization founded by Dr. Ron Israelski,
the director of Academic Affairs at Orange Regional Medical Center in
the Town of Wallkill, is continuing its humanitarian missions by delivering
modern medical equipment and supplies to Haiti through his non-profit
effort.

The 2010 earthquake that decimated the nation killed 250,000 people and
injured millions more and the nation continues to recover.

Since the quake, Israelski’s ORSI – Orthopaedic Relief Services
International – has been providing medical and surgical equipment
and supplies to Hopital Universite D’Etat d’Haiti, the largest
hospital in the nation, which suffered severe damage during the earthquake.

ORSI recently delivered the first operating room X-ray machine and flew
almost a ton of lifesaving equipment to the hospital in the hurricane
ravaged south, which included over 80,000 medications, surgical supplies,
wound care equipment, IV fluids for Cholera, and other medical supplies.

Dr. Israelski was instrumental in developing a partnership with Touro
College of Osteopathic Medicine and the creation of Touro’s Middletown
campus at the former Horton campus of Orange Regional Medical Center.

As former chairman of the Orthopedic Department at Orange Regional, Dr.
Israelski led the creation of the hospital’s Orthopedic Bone and
Joint Center, which was recently awarded certification for hip and knee
replacement by the Joint Commission.
