PEEKSKILL – The suspect in last Friday’s robbery of the M&T Bank branch on Park Street in Peekskill has been charged after being apprehended by the New York State Police following a separate robbery attempt Saturday night in the Town of Cortlandt.
Peekskill detectives, who had identified the suspect and were actively looking for him when he was captured shortly after the Cortlandt robbery, have charged Joshue Flores, 26, with robbery and grand larceny, both felonies.
Flores, a resident of Montrose, allegedly entered the M&T Bank and displayed a note threatening the use of a weapon.
Peekskill Police were able to identify Flores after circulating his photograph in the media and canvassing dozens of local businesses. While detectives were in Montrose checking for Flores at his residence, State Police reported they had taken Flores into custody following an attempted robbery at the Food Town in the Town of Cortlandt.
