PEEKSKILL – The suspect in Friday’s robbery of the M&T Bank on Park St. in Peekskill has been charged after being apprehended by the New York State Police following a separate robbery attempt last night in the Town of Cortlandt. Peekskill Detectives, who had identified the suspect and were actively looking for him when he was captured shortly after the Cortlandt robbery, have charged Joshue Flores, 26, with robbery and grand larceny, both felonies. Flores, a resident of Montrose, entered the M&T Bank and displayed a note threatening the use of a weapon.
Peekskill Police Officers were able to identify Flores after circulating his photograph in the media and canvassing dozens of local businesses. While detectives were in Montrose checking for Flores at his residence, State Police reported they had taken Flores into custody following an attempted robbery at the Food Town in the Town of Cortlandt. Peekskill Detectives responded to the NYSP Barracks where they interviewed Flores and filed charges.
Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen thanked all who assisted with yesterday’s robbery investigation including State Police.
