KINGSTON – The mission of the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency (UCIDA) is to advance the job opportunities, general prosperity and long-term economic vitality of Ulster County residents by targeting tax incentives, bonding and other assistance to foster creation and attraction of new business and the retention and expansion of existing business.
“In order to best provide assistance to new and existing business owners seeking to retain workforce and/or expand, other than what the UCIDA can offer directly, the UCIDA is issuing this Call for Projects that Deliver of Services to New and Expanding Ulster County Businesses (Call for Projects),” said UCIDA Chair Michael Horodyski.  “This Call for Projects is a competitive process.”
Applications are on the UCIDA’s website at http://ulstercountyny.gov/economic-development/ulster-county-industrial-development-agency
Eligible applicants include for profit and not for profit organizations that assist Ulster County businesses with retention and expansion plans.  The deadline to apply for funding is Friday, January 27, 2017.
UCIDA board members will review all of the Projects submitted during this Call for Projects.  If necessary, Project representatives may be asked to attend the February UCIDA meeting and make a presentation about the Project.   Each application will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

Applicant – Is the applicant’s purpose/mission clear and concise?  Does the applicant exhibit a capacity to utilize the funds effectively?  What is the applicant’s history with the UCIDA and with Ulster County’s businesses?
Project – Which business, businesses or industry will the applicant be delivering services to?  How much funding is the applicant requesting?  How will the applicant be using the funding?  Is the budget clear and focused on service delivery?  If other funding is required for the delivery of these services, how will that funding be secured?  A preference may be given to new Projects.

The Board will announce which applicants will be awarded contracts for services and the amount of funding to be awarded by February 24, 2017.  Applicants will be required to enter into Contracts for the Delivery of Services with the UCIDA.  All contracts will include reporting requirements.
Potential applicants with questions can contact Ulster County Office of Economic Development Director Suzanne Holt at 845-334-5596 or shol@co.ulster.ny.us.
