Kingston man charged with parole violation, harassment

KINGSTON – Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Anthony Lyman, 29, of Kingston. He was charged with the violation of Harassment 2nd degree.
On November 22nd, 2016 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Deputies responded to a 911 call for a physical dispute outside of a restaurant on Ulster Avenue in the Town of Ulster. An investigation revealed that Lyman was involved in a verbal argument with another person at the establishment. Lyman struck the victim with a closed fist in the face and then fled on foot. Deputies subsequently located the defendant and took him into custody.
Lyman was arrested and transported to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center. It was then discovered that Mr. Lyman was wanted as a parole absconder by the New York State Division of Parole. He was later transported to the Ulster County Jail and held without bail pending a Parole Hearing.
