TOWN OF HYDE PARK – Police say the man killed in a November 9 crash on Route 9 was a New York City man
On November 9, approximately 1:25 pm, the Town of Hyde Park Police Department were advised of the crash Route 9 between Scenic Drive and Ledges Drive.
Investigation revealed that a single vehicle, southbound on Route 9, had crossed into the oncoming lane, left the roadway, struck a rock wall and finally struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.
The victim, who was the sole occupant, was badly burned. He has now been identified as Robert Stattel, 83, from New York City.
