Edington: “… tremendous
impact …”

POUGHKEEPSIE – Students and alumni of Dutchess Community College were the highlight of President Pamela Edington’s discussion Wednesday at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Poughkeepsie.
She focused on several successful undergraduate stories to underscore the importance of the campus within the local community.
“The college has been here for 60 years, we have some amazing alumns,” Edington said. She indicated the 40,000 alumni have landed in government service, the business sector, and education.
“The college has a tremendous impact in the local economy,” Edington said.
Edington added the new economic reports issued periodically by the institution,
demonstrte the benefit the tax base and overall quality of life in Dutchess
County.
An experienced educator and administrator with more than 30 years of service at community colleges in Connecticut and Massachusetts, Pamela Edington, Ed.D assumed the presidency of Dutchess Community College in August 2014.
Edington noted that enrollment remains steady, this year, with no major budget or construction changes planned.
