Start-Up NY will bring 82 jobs to region

ALBANY – Three companies are expected to spend over $5 million and create a total of 82 jobs through the state’s Start-Up NY program where they will locate in the tax-free program with colleges and universities.
Aurora Innovations, Inc., a company new to the state, is a national manufacturer and distributor of organic garden products based in Eugene, Oregon that will open a new eastern US manufacturing and distribution facility in the Mid-Hudson. The company, to be associated with the SUNY Orange Start-Up NY zone, is expected to create 53 jobs and invest some $4.7 million.
SUNY Ulster will hot Anchor ID, Inc., an existing early-stage information technology company that has developed a multi-factor authentication platform for enterprises and small and medium sized businesses. The company is expected to create 15 jobs and invest $75,000.
In the Dutchess Community College Start-Up NY program, FlightLevel Dutchess, LLC, an existing aviation services company in New York that owns fixed base operations at Dutchess County Airport, plans to expand and open an aircraft maintenance facility at the airport and partner with the college to offer an FAA certified mechanic training program. It will create seven jobs and invest $310,000.
