Two arrested on drug charges in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS – Two people were arrested by authorities in Port Jervis and in each case hundreds of packets of heroin were seized. Both were arrested on Friday, October 21, following a lengthy investigation.
Heather Aleman, 29, of Port Jervis was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.  During a probation compliance check, authorities seized 131 packets of heroin, individual bags of crack cocaine and powder cocaine, marijuana and $2,549 in cash. She was sent to the Orange County Jail without bail.
Police also arrested Joseph Mann, 27, after he was stopped on East Main Street in Port Jervis and found in possession of 339 packets of heroin, 10 grams of crack cocaine and $325 in cash.  He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Mann was also charged with an arrest warrant for a violation of probation.  He is in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
The arrests stemmed from investigations by Port Jervis Police, the Orange County Probation Department, Sheriff’s Office and State Police.
