FISHKILL – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive and Gap Inc. have offered a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the August 29 fire at the Gap’s Northeast Distribution Center on Merritt Boulevard in Fishkill.
ATF is offering up to $7,500 with the Gap matching the federal reward.
The investigation has determined the fire was intentionally set.
ATF’s National Response Team conducted the investigation in partnership with the State Police, State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division and the Fishkill Fire Department.
ATF spokesman Matthew Myerson couldn’t go into specifics of the investigation, but said it is moving forward.
“We want the public to know that we are working on this and we want the employees working there to know we are working on this and we also want to encourage anyone who may have information, even if they think it is a small piece of information, to come forward and give us a call because even that piece of information might wind up opening the case wide open,” Myerson said.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact ATF at 888-ATF-FIRE (888-283-3473), email ATFTips@atf.gov, or contact the bureau at www.atf.gov/contact/atf-tips .
