HIGHLAND – Construction work on the east and west approaches to the Mid-Hudson Bridge between Highland and Poughkeepsie will continue for the next three weekends.
The work began this weekend and will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times during the work – one in each direction.
The backup caused many ticketholders for a Saturday afternoon event at Poughkeepsie’s Bardavon Theater to arrive up to an hour late. A similar event at the Bardavon is scheduled for next Saturday.
Bridge Authority officials suggest motorists use the Rhinecliff or Newburgh-Beacon bridges to avoid traffic delays during those periods.
