WOODSTOCK – Opening night at the 17th annual Woodstock Film Festival
was filled with world class films, celebrities and celebration.

The evening began at the Woodstock Playhouse with the world premiere of
the film “Blind” along with the film’s writer John Buffalo
Mailer, director Michael Mailer (sons of Norman Mailer) and star Alec
Baldwin.

The three regaled the audience with stories about the making of the film
and Baldwin didn’t disappoint with a very funny reference to Donald
Trump.

Baldwin said the film appealed to him “because it is the story of
finding true love later in life.” The film’s next step is
to find distribution to get it in movie theaters.

The Woodstock Film Festival continues through Sunday. Today some of the
highlights will be the “Shorts” at the Woodstock Community
Center, several groundbreaking documentaries including a series called
“America Epic” and “The Last Dalai Lama?” also
a panel discussion with stars from the producing world.

Tonight, at The Saugerties Performing Arts Factory, is a narrative called
“Thirsty” featuring Thirsty Burlington, a revered drag queen
who impersonates Cher. A performance by Thirsty will follow the film.
