Orange County home sales lead region

WHITE PLAINS – Sales of single-family homes in Orange County rose by 20.5 percent in the third quarter of the year, the biggest gain of the four counties in the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors territory. Year to date, the sales rose by just under 29 percent.
Sales in Putnam County rose by 18.5 percent from July through September while year to date, they grew by 26.5 percent.
Rockland County home sales rose by 12.5 percent in the third quarter while year to date, they increased by just over 18 percent.
Single-family home sales in Westchester increased by just over two percent in the third quarter. Year to date, they rose by 10.5 percent.
In the third quarter, the median sale price of a home in Westchester was $668,500 while they were $429,000 in Rockland, $340,000 in Putnam and $244,500 in Orange County.
