MIDDLETOWN – The city planning board granted final approval for construction of a modern transportation center at the site of the existing bus terminal in Middletown.  That means the more than $1 million project to transform the ShortLine terminal into a modern facility should begin shortly.

“There will be improved lighting, improved safety, improved cleanliness,” DeStefano said.  “It will be aesthetically attractive as far as bus stations can be aesthetically attractive and it will be a much better first impression when people come into the city by bus and we are hoping that more of that will happen because of the trail activity.”
The trail to which the mayor is referring is the Heritage Trail, which will run through an area of the transportation center, once it is constructed through Middletown.
