GHENT – A Ghent man was rescued unhurt by firefighters after his SUV ran off Columbia County Route 21B on Tuesday morning and wound up in a private pond.
Robert Brooks, Jr., 38, of Ghent, who was alone in the vehicle, was sitting on the roof when firefighters from the Ghent Fire Department and Chatham Rescue Squad arrived to assist Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies in removing him from the partially submerged vehicle.
No injuries, other than to pride
