Poughkeepsie motorcyclist killed in crash with car

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A 28-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man was
killed when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a car that was pulling
out of a local business on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie at 5:47
p.m. Sunday.

Town Police identified the victim as Brian Freer, who was operating a
2003 Honda motorcycle when he collided with a 2011 BMW driven by an 18-year-old
Cypress, Texas woman.

Freer was transported to Vassar Brothers Medical Center where he was pronounced
dead at 6:29 p.m.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Poughkeepsie
Town Police Traffic Enforcement Division at 845-485-3680.

On- and off-duty Town of Poughkeepsie officers and members of the Arlington
Fire Department performed CPR on Freer at the scene.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and Medical Examiner’s
Office assisted in the investigation.
