State, federal funding to make sidewalks and crosswalks ADA compliant

WASHINGTON – State and federal funds totaling over $8 million will allow communities in the Hudson Valley to install sidewalks and crosswalks that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The money will go to municipalities in Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Communities in Upper Westchester – $3.4 million
Communities in Northern Westchester – $408,000
Village of Dobbs Ferry – $305,000
Town of Harrison – $145,000
Town of Irvington – $120,000
Communities in Rockland – $2.7 million
City of Kingston – $360,000 for ADA projects along a school route
City of Port Jervis – $360,000 for an ADA compliant pedestrian mall
Village of Red Hook – over $88,000
