16-year-old charged with pointing loaded gun at student on Ramapo school bus

RAMAPO – A teen was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, both felonies, and menacing as a misdemeanor after he alleged pointed a loaded gun at another student while on a school bus.
Ramapo Town Police said their investigation found that the victim had just boarded a school bus at Ramapo High School on Friday afternoon around 2.
The 16-year-old, whose name police did not release, got on the bus, sat next to the victim and pulled the loaded gun from a backpack and pointed it at the victim.  The victim told his family later in the day and Ramapo Police were contacted.
The suspect was located Friday night by police in Nanuet. He was a passenger in a car driven by Timothy Brown, 23, of Spring Valley. During the stop, the gun was found and both were arrested.
The 16-year-old was committed to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Brown was charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a felony and is being held without bail.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, police said.
