New York City bombing suspect apprehended in New Jersey

LINDEN, NJ – New York City bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28,
was apprehended in Linden, New Jersey late Monday morning.

New York City’s Police Commissioner James O’Neill said the attacks
on Manhattan, and Linden and Elizabeth, New Jersey were an act of terrorism..

Rahami, 28, is a US citizen born in Afghanistan.

The mayor of Linden said two police officers were wounded and Rahami was
shot in a shootout with Rahami.

Earlier in the morning, the US Military Academy at West Point was locked
down when an individual reported seeing someone who looked like the suspect
driving into the academy.

That vehicle was later found and the academy was cleared.

President Obama, during a late morning news conference, urged the public
to report anything they believe to be suspicious.
