KINGSTON – Friday, September 16 marks National POW/MIA Day, a day
to honor and remember the men and women of the armed forces who remain
missing in action or prisoners of war.

“The POW/MIA flag serves as a daily reminder of these brave American
heroes,” said Ulster County Executive Michael Hein. “It also
serves as a symbol of our commitment to caring for their loved ones at
home who anxiously await word or pray for their safe return.”

Hein said the nation “must never forget the sacrifices of those
who put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we hold so dear,
as we rededicate our efforts to bring these brave soldiers home swiftly
and safely.”
