Liberty man wanted on charges in two counties

MONTICELLO – A Liberty man, who was arrested by Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies on Monday afternoon, was found to have several warrants for his arrest in Sullivan and Orange counties.
Ivan Rivera, 25, was recognized by a deputy sheriff as he approached a holiday safety check point on Old Liberty Road in the Town of Thompson around 2 p.m.  Rivera, who the deputy knew had a suspended license, was taken into custody for misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
Two other men in the car with Rivera, Von Mason, 25, of Port Jervis, and Dashawn Williamson, 26, of Middletown, were also found in possession of marijuana.  They were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and released on their own recognizance.
Rivera, who was charged with the suspended driver’s license and misdemeanor possession of cocaine and marijuana, had five outstanding arrest warrants from the State Police, Monticello, Fallsburg and Deerpark police.  He is in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $7,500.
