WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to 22 years to life in prison after having been found guilty on June 24 of murder.
Eryc Hairston, 26, shot Kenedy Gonzalez to death at about 2:20 a.m. on July 8.   Police said Hairston pulled a gun on Gonzalez, who was not armed and as the victim turned away from Hairston, he shot Gonzalez twice in the back, killing him.
Following an intensive investigation by Yonkers Police, Hairston was arrested on July 27, 2015 in New York City.
Hairston was turned over the state Department of Corrections immediately following his sentencing.
