CLAVERACK – A 19-year-old Greenport man was remanded to the Columbia
County Jail on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed another man in the
abdomen. Charged with felony armed assault was Jacob O’Leary.
The 18-year-old victim reported he was with friends at a party on Humane
Society Road in Claverack when a verbal altercation turned physical. During
the fight, the victim said he had been stabbed on an unknown assailant.
The victim’s friends drove him to Columbia Memorial Hospital in
Hudson for treatment.
An investigation led to the arrest of O’Leary, who was committed
to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
