Vassar professor named interim president at MSMC

Dr. Kennett

NEWBURGH – Vassar College professor of economic Dr. David Kennett
has been named interim president of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh
for a two-year term effective immediately.

The announcement was made by Mount Board of Trustees Chairman Charles
Frank.

Kennett worked at Vassar College in the Town of Poughkeepsie since 1976
and most recently served as the Elizabeth Williams Professor of Economics.

Among his contributions, Kennett has provided his economic expertise to
the US Justice Department and The World Bank.

“His strong academic credentials and impressive list of experiences
will be a great asset to the Mount,” said Frank.

Kennett is getting right down to work, reporting to the campus on Monday
(today). His first priority is to meet with faculty, staff, administrators
and students along with community leaders and alumnae before the start
of the school year.
