KINGSTON – An Ulster County grand jury Tuesday indicted an Ellenville
woman on a murder charge in connection with the death of her month on
July 23.
Sarra Gilbert, 27, is alleged to have stabbed her mother, Mari Gilbert,
52, several times in the younger woman’s apartment at 9 Warren Street
in Ellenville.
Local police were asked to check on the mother’s welfare when she
could not be contacted and that is when officers found her body with several
stab wounds to her torso along with other injuries.
Sarra Gilbert was located and arrested in the apartment with blood on
her clothing. She remains in the Ulster County Jail.
