ELLENVILLE – Three men are under arrest after an attack on a man who was walking late Monday night on Park Street in Ellenville.
Village Police said the assault was the result of an ongoing dispute between the boyfriends of two sisters and was not a random act of violence.
The victim was walking with his seven-year-old son when he was approached by the three men, Carlos “Carlito” Andino-Lopez, Joel Lorenzo and Earl Mansfield, Jr.
Police said the men approached the victim with words being exchanged before one of them pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the back of the head while the other two suspects hit him with a crutch and their fists.   They fled in a vehicle but were arrested later.
The victim received 13 staples to close wounds to his head.
The three suspects were each charged with assault and criminal possession
of a weapon as felonies and endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor.
They are in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000
bond each.
