TARRYTOWN – Tappan Zee
Contractors has begun installing road deck panels for the new Tappan Zee
Bridge’s Westchester approach. Project cranes will lift the prefabricated
deck panels into place atop the previously installed structural steel
girders.
Close to 6,000 of those high-strength deck panels will be installed on the new crossing’s approach spans.
Meanwhile, work associated with the new bridge’s bicycle and pedestrian path will necessitate the closing of the southbound Thruway exit 10 – Nyack, South Nyack, Route 9W) – on-ramp from South roadway and Cornelison Avenue during the overnights of Monday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 3.
The on-ramp will remain accessible from Route 9W north.
