CORNWALL – The State Department of Environmental Conservation is delisting the Majestic Weaving Corporation site at 2 Mill Street in Cornwall from the Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Site Program.
The DEC determined the site no longer presents a threat to public health or the environment and is proposing removing it from the registry.
Remedial actions included the removal of contaminated soil and drums containing hazardous waste. Sampling indicated groundwater is not contaminated, soil meets the soil cleanup objectives for residential use and soil vapor intrusion is not an exposure concern.
Public comments are being received through August 26 before the decision to remove the site from the registry is finalized.
