ROSENDALE – The first shared town hall in the state was dedicated on Wednesday placing the town governments of Rosendale and Marbletown under one roof with the goal of saving taxpayers money.
The Rondout Valley Municipal Center, formerly the Rosendale Elementary School, which closed in 2012, will also be home to three not-for-profit organizations – the ARC of Ulster Greene, Rondout Valley Growers and Food Insecurity Collaborative.
The Town of Rosendale acquired the building from the Rondout Valley Central School District for $1 in 2013.
State legislation was required to allow for both town governments to operate under one roof.

Former school is now the first town hall in New York State to be shared by two towns
