MONTICELLO – Police have arrested two people in connection with the armed robbery of the Monticello Quick Mart at 41 Forestburg Road on Tuesday.
Arrested were Jeffrey Schuman, 36, and Stephanie Scanna, 32, both of 8 Edward Avenue in Monticello. They were each charged with two felony counts of robbery and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.  Both are in the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
Investigation by Monticello Police with assistance from the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Office and State Police, showed that Schuman entered the store at 7:36 a.m. while wearing a mask and displaying a handgun. He took cash from the register while threatening the clerk with the gun, police said. Outside, Scanna acted as a lookout for Schuman and was also his getaway driver.  Her car was later located in the driveway of 8 Edward Avenue.
An investigation is continuing to see if Schuman had any involvement in the January 16 robbery of the same store.
