HUNTER – A Westfield, New Jersey resident fell 50 feet to his death from the Kaaterskill Falls in the Town of Hunter on Wednesday.
State Police said Ezra Kennedy, 17, had been hiking with a group of relatives and friends when he made it to the top of the lower falls. As he neared the edge, he lost his footing on the wet rock and accidentally slipped and fell to the rocks below.
State Police, Town of Hunter Police, Tannersville Fire Department and Greene County Paramedics responded to the scene. Kennedy was extricated by members of the Twin Cove Rope Rescue Team.
