MONTGOMERY – A crash on
Interstate 84 westbound near Maybrook early Wednesday afternoon claimed
the life of one person and injured several others.
The crash occurred at around 12:40 p.m., said State Police Troop F Commander
Major Joseph Tripodo.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that a tractor-trailer approaching
a construction zone in an unsafe speed struck several vehicles, two of
which were pushed under a second tractor-trailer,” he said.
People trapped in their cars under the truck were extricated and transported
to Westchester Medical Center, Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town
of Wallkill and St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
