KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in solving an assault that occurred around 9:40 p.m. on July 5. Deputies and State Police responded to the Sunset Woods mobile home park at 130 Timberwall Road in the Town of Saugerties.
A woman was carrying her 15-month old child into her residence when the child was shot in the face with what is believed to be a pellet gun. The child was taken to the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Hospital Campus for treatment, during which a pellet was found lodged in the child’s face.
Detectives are pursuing leads and ask anyone with information about the assault to call the crime tip hotline at 845-340-3599 or 845-338-3640 to speak with Det. Babcock.
