GOSHEN – A New Windsor man was arraigned in Orange County Court on Tuesday in connection with the death of a Highland Falls man inside the Vails Gate ShopRite store on June 11.
Andrew Goodenough, 42, was arraigned on charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Goodenough allegedly approached Michael Kohus, 35, from behind and stabbed him in the neck, killing him.  Kohus was located still inside the store when police arrived on the scene.
District Attorney David Hoovler said the attack appears to have been random.
“The incident itself appears to be extremely violent in nature and appears to be unprovoked,” Hoovler said.
The investigation is continuing and the DA is asking anyone with information about the attack or Goodenough to contact New Windsor Town Police.
