COLD SPRING – An architectural firm has been hired to redevelop the former Butterfield Hospital Center in Cold Spring. Todd Zwigard Architects was awarded the contract to redesign the Lahey Pavilion, which will house a new state-of-the-art senior citizens center.
Initial plans for the building will be ready next month.
“We are anxiously looking forward to moving ahead on this long overdue project,” said County Executive MaryEllen Odell.
An issue of available parking has been resolved, she said.
“By offering seniors the option of using county bus service to get to the new center, we were able to collaboratively establish a resolution for the parking concerns on the Butterfield site,” Odell said.
The planning board is expected to approve the final plans at its session next week.
