Former Scarsdale attorney sentenced for stealing over $1 million from clients

WHITE PLAINS – A former attorney from Scarsdale who stole over $1.4 million from 13 clients has been sentenced in Westchester County Court to two to six years in state prison. Michael Lippman, 71, pled guilty in February to grand larceny, criminal tax fraud and scheme to defraud, all as felonies.
Lippman also ordered to pay restitution in the amount stolen and pay the state tax department $172,393.
Between January 1, 2010 and September 14, 2015, at the time a licensed attorney in New York engaged in a scheme in which he deliberately defrauded money from clients who had entrusted to him funds for various purposes including the transfer of real estate and estate planning.
