NEWBURGH – A 24-year-old Newburgh woman has been charged sex trafficking
for allegedly giving a 15-year-old girl money and narcotics in exchange
for her to engage in sex acts.
The six-month investigation culminated with the arrest Dawn Auche, who
was charged with the felonies of sex trafficking, compelling prostitution
and promoting prostitution.
Auche is currently in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail
or $20,000 in an unrelated indictment for felony criminal sale of a controlled
substance.
She is scheduled to appear in court on the sex trafficking charges next
month.
The investigation that led to the latest charges was conducted by Detective
Erik Eltz and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. It was
initiated by the victim’s mother.
