MIDDLETOWN – State Police Thursday identified the third victim in the fatal crash on I-84 in Wawayanda as the niece of the driver. Asysia Ferrer, 14, was sitting in the front passenger seat when the car ran out of gas, stopped in the driving lane of the highway around 3:40 a.m. and was rammed by a tractor-trailer whose driver believed the car was still moving with its flashers on.
Also killed in the crash were the driver of the car, Jesenia Valentin, 29, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and the rear seat passenger, Angelina Rodriguez, 9, her daughter.
The driver of the truck, from Sugar Loaf, Pennsylvania, was not injured. No charged were filed against him.
