NEWBURGH – A man wanted for attempted murder in Puerto Rico was arrested in the City of Newburgh by members of the US Marshal Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Roger Gonzalez-Martinez, 30, was wanted on two warrants for attempted murder. He was located at an address on Carson Avenue in Newburgh.
The warrants for Gonzalez-Martinez stem from a 2014 incident in which he allegedly fired a gun at Puerto Rican police officers.
After being arrested without incident, he was transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, arraigned in Middletown City Court and committed to the Orange County Jail without bail pending extradition proceedings.
