D’Amico

TOWN OF WALLKILL – State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico’s last day on the job was Friday. He is retiring after a long career in law enforcement.
The Rockland County resident spent a portion of the day at Troop F headquarters in the Town of Wallkill and attended the annual Memorial Day ceremony to honor the lives of those troopers who died in the line of duty.
Troop F Commander Major Joseph Tripodo wished D’Amico well in his retirement.
“Today is the last day that Superintendent D’Amico will be in uniform as a member of the New York State Police. We are proud that he chose to spend it here with us in our ceremony here at Troop F,” Tripodo said. “He was confirmed as the 14th superintendent on January 1, 2011. He was devoted to our agency, loyal to our troopers and a true gentleman.”
Prior to joining the State Police, D’Amico was Governor Cuomo’s chief investigator when Cuomo was attorney general. Prior to that, D’Amico served with the NYPD for 27 years, retiring from that department as a deputy chief.
