NEW CITY – An 18-count indictment was handed up in Rockland County Court on Monday against Walter Booker, 64, of Spring Valley, the village’s chief building inspector. He is accused of issuing false certificates of occupancy for another man’s residence.
Booker was indicted on three counts each of grand larceny, falsifying business records, issuing a false certificate, and official misconduct.
Booker is also accused of filing false certificates which aided the owner of his property and their associated corporation to unlawfully receive income via operating a daycare center/school at the locations.
The man who allegedly received the phony certificates, Spring Valley chief building inspector, Ramapo businessman Jacob Goldman, was indicted on three counts each of grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing, all as felonies.
If convicted, both face up to seven years in state prison.
