Newburgh City Comptroller quits, arrested for grand larceny in theft of parking meter funds

NEWBURGH – Newburgh City Comptroller John Aber has resigned and
was arrested today, City Manager Michael Ciaravino announced.

“There is an investigation pending regarding grand larceny related
to his resignation,” the manager said.

Mayor Judy Kennedy confirmed that city funds were involved. She praised
Ciaravino and Police Chief Daniel Cameron for their quick action following
their investigation.

Ciaravino appointed Kathryn Mack as acting comptroller.
